To me all those words and more describe one person. One of my dear friends, Lisa Sloat was diagnosed with breast cancer on June 11, 2009. Here we are a year later and she is a fighter, has more strength in her little finger then I could even image having, has the courage of a lion (how cliche’ lol) and she is a Pink Warrior. She has fought this battle with more trials and tribulations in the last year, then most people have in their entire lives. Fingers crossed, along with thoughts and prayers that her cancer will stay in remission and she will never have to go through the battle again.
So why does this make her so special from anyone else? She is getting ready to go through yet another surgery. Just one more, that stacks on top of the surgeries she’s already had. Her sense of humor about everything makes me giggle simply for the fact that even if she’s having a bad day, she never lets you forget that every day is a blessing. Her hilarious Facebook statuses, her innuendos to which you are never quite sure where she’s going with them and her smile…it’s just contagious.
So enough rambling and now for me to get to the point. On October 29-31, Lisa will be walking the Susan G. Koman, 3 Day for the Cure. That’s 3 days and 60 miles. Mind you, this walk is a short time after her surgery but yet she will be there with bells on as a survivor and a supporter. Her goal is $2300 and she can clarify this but if that goal is not met, she will not be able to walk.
Here’s where I come in. From this day on…or until I say so, 15% of session fees and 10% of print profits will go towards Lisa’s fund-raising. Help her in the fight against this awful disease!!! Even if you don’t want to get new and improved portraits done, you can click the link I posted above and donate directly. $5, $10, even $20 helps…every little bit helps.
So remember…15% of session fees and 10% of print profits will be donated to Lisa and her fight against breast cancer!!
Now that I’m done babbling, you can click the links above for the calender to see when we can schedule your session. Think holidays…they are just around the corner, so let’s get those family portraits done!! Be sure to share this…Facebook it, Tweet It, Stumble On it…I really don’t care how it gets around.
Become a fan on Facebook and never miss a special. Trust me…I loose my mind on a regular basis and the insane deals are there…sometimes too often
